In January 1986, the Rodriguez brothers built a kiosk or branch on the corner of Lopez Jaena and Rizal Street in Ormoc City, sold ngo-hiong, a deep-fried lumpia that is a favorite among the street-food lovers in Cebu City.
They named their first venture into the food business after the oldest among them and with the catchiest name, Mayong. Thru the years they developed their own recipes which quickly gained a wider following. Due to their initial success by setting up a snackhouse at the neighboring town. In 1992, the business expanded into bakery products. Mayong’s Bakeshop & Snackhouse is now present in 9 cities and towns across Leyte and Samar, with 11 branches and 7 outlets to date. We are most recognized for our burgers, siopao, homemade siomai, sliced bread and many more.
